Welcome to Couch Oil & Gas
Oil & Gas investing requires a highly functional team effort. Couch Oil & Gas began this effort in 1967 with an initial 3.125% (1/32) investment in a Henderson County, Texas well that produced a successful flow of 172 barrels of oil per day. Later, in 1973, friends and relatives in the industry encouraged Charles Couch to acquire 25% of an individual well and share the well costs with business associates.
That successful well encouraged Couch, from time to time, to secure larger chunks of well prospects until 1991 when the team was enlarged to provide monthly new well prospect funding.
The team developed contacts within the industry to enable participation in a large number of successful shallow well prospects with limited reserve quantities. During 1999 plans were made to expand group participation into large-reserve "Impact" wells . Successful discoveries in the years 2000 and 2001 confirmed the successful geological transition from small limited-reserve shallow wells to deep higher-reserve wells.
